What We Do

When victims of war, poverty, disasters, disease, and famine cry out for help, Samaritan’s Purse is often the first to answer. We specialise in meeting critical needs in the world's most troubled regions, often working through ministry partners already on the scene of a crisis. We pre-position supplies in warehouses strategically located around the world so we can quickly respond to crises, including a warehouse right here in the UK.

When disaster strikes, our fleet of aircraft are equipped to deliver emergency supplies and personnel anywhere in the world within twenty-four hours, and we deploy Disaster Assistance Response Teams comprised of experienced professionals trained in meeting the needs of disaster victims.

How We Help

Emergency Relief

A storm or earthquake can leave survivors without the basics of daily life. When Samaritan’s Purse responds we often start by handing out needed supplies, including cooking utensils, hygiene items, blankets, a water bucket, and other essentials.

Emergency Medicine

Quality healthcare is crucial in the days following a disaster. We stock hospitals and clinics with medicines and supplies, and we also send fully equipped mobile medical teams to reach people who have no other access to medical help.

Life-Saving Food

After a disaster, food and water can mean the difference between life and death. We provide emergency food kits that include staples such as rice, beans, soy meal, corn, salt, and cooking oil.

Emergency Shelter

People who have lost their homes face the threat of sickness and disease with greater exposure to the elements. Samaritan's Purse responds to many disasters by providing blankets, tents, and heavy-duty plastic sheeting to survivors. We often construct transitional shelters, giving families a place to live while they recover.
